There’s muscle and music at every CMA Music Festival, especially at the Sports Zone. Here, celebrities, members of the public and even a parade of talented dogs battle in good-natured competition, sometimes just for the glory but also for a few real prizes. Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge (1st Ave – Fort Nashboro- just up from Riverfront park)

Field & Stream magazine will bring their Total Outdoorsman Challenge (TOC) to the CMA Music Festival for two days of events in the Sports Zone. On Thursday, at Fort Nashboro, Field & Stream will challenge the Country Music world to dethrone their three-time Total Outdoorsman Challenge Champion, Paul Thompson, in an outdoors skill competition. Artists will compete against each other and Thompson to show off their hunting and fishing know-how. The top scoring Artist will be featured in Field & Stream magazine as Country Music’s reining Total Outdoorsman and the top three scoring artists will take home Diamond Archery bows. On Friday, Fort Nashboro on 1st Ave will be home to Total Outdoorsman Challenge Regional event. At 10:00am fifty (50) pre-qualified local sportsmen and sportswomen will compete to move on to the National Championship, to be held in Springfield, Missouri. Outdoor Life Save-A-Stream Charity Pro-Am (1st Ave – Fort Nashboro) –

Join us at 3:30pm on Friday at 1st Ave North & Church St, as County Artists and the Primos Hunting Pro Staff come together for a friendly outdoors competition. Daniel Lee Martin of The Sportsman Channel’s Backstage & Backroads will host. Project: Save-A-Stream is a grassroots effort developed by Outdoor Life challenging outdoorsmen to seek out and revive our local fisheries. Ultimate K9 Sports Show, presented by Waggin’ Train dog treats

The Ultimate K9 Sports Show, presented by Waggin’ Train dog treats, will feature trainer John Misita and up to six world class K9 athletes (fondly referred to as the “frisbee dogs”), including Dock Diving, High Jump and K9 Frisbee, all in a fun, High Flying atmosphere. Fans will be invited to be a part of the show and will get the chance to meet the K9 stars afterwards and learn a few training secrets. All of K9s in Flight’s Stars have been rescued or adopted from shelters all over the country. Throughout the event, fans will be treated to Waggin’ Train dog treats for their own four-legged friends! *Two artists will participate in the dock diving events at this time.
Mahindra Tractors Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge (Sports Zone Activity Area)

The Mahindra Tractors Championship Bull Riding Challenge will return to the Sports Zone on Friday at 3:30pm. Artists and Championship Bull Riders (CBR) will compete for the best mechanical bull ride in the Sports Zone activity area. 4-6 Artists will be paired up with 4-6 professional CBR athletes to compete against each other. Stick around for a chance to meet the CBR athletes after the event!
New Holland Celebrity Tractor Race, hosted by Michael Peterson

On Sunday, June 14, the Sports Zone will be filled with action-packed excitement as celebrities test their tractor-driving skills during the Michael Peterson/New Holland Celebrity Tractor Race. Join in the fun as celebrities’ race against the clock through an obstacle course on a New Holland Boomer ™ compact tractor.
