Katie Chance
Friday @ 11:30am
www.myspace.com/katiechancemusic
When eight year old Katie Chance imagined she had an angel in her pocket she told her dad that she wanted to write a song. As she thought about angels, she saw love everywhere thus penning her first song, "Love in My Pocket,” a child's interpretation of a world so filled with love you can actually see it all around you.
Katie is ten years old and has just completed her debut album "Friends,” and with the special help of her music friends, the album features duets and collaborations with music icons Charlie Daniels, Sawyer Brown and Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys. "Friends” is staged as Katie's musical interpretation of the day in the life of a child and contains 8 songs, 3 of which she wrote including the title track. "This project is both for kids and adults,” says Katie. "I call it ‘happy music' because it is music that just makes you smile!” Scheduled for release in the summer of 2009, portion of the proceeds from "Friends” will benefit The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Autism Research Program (TRIAD)
Comedy and Magic of Sean T. Hughes
Stage Emcee
Friday @ 12:20pm
http://balloonsmagicandmore.com/
When Sean graduated from high school, his classmates went to college to become businessmen, teachers, writers, etc. But this wasn't what Sean wanted to do. "I think that all I've ever wanted to do, whether I've consciously realized it or not, is to make people happy. I've never had any greater joy in life than doing that"
Sean is a balloon artist/entertainer, comedy magician, and stilt walker who began his career as a costume character at Opryland U.S.A. in Nashville, Tennessee. From Nashville, Sean moved to Chicago where he studied Theatre at DePaul University. While in Chicago, Sean's interest in magic grew, and started to learn the art of magic from renowned Close-up magician, Eugene Burger. "To me, the most important thing about being an entertainer is not to do the most amazing balloon sculpture or have the best magic trick.", Sean says. "The most important thing to me is to make people happy. Can a magician or a balloon guy entertain people? If I can't do that, then it doesn't matter if I have the best magic trick or the best balloon. The best magician or clown is the best entertainer. That's what I always strive to become; the best entertainer I can be".
Conductor Jack and the Zinghoppers
Friday @ 3:15pm
Toot! Toot! Get ready to sing and hop with Conductor Jack and the Zinghoppers for an old-time, foot-stompin', hand-clappin', organic, feel-good hootenanny for the whole family! With a degree in Early Childhood Education, Jack's been described as "Bob Dylan meets Mr. Rogers" (Billboard Magazine) and "a near brilliant children's songwriter" by the Washington Post. He recently toured Governor Bredesen to promote Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program, and is the only "children's musician" to ever have a featured night at the legendary Bluebird Cafe. He will joined by his backup band, The Zinghoppers which features live bluegrass musicians and adorable costumed characters including singing star Penelope The Possum.
